Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (or just Teeth if you’re Googling) is a bar in the Mission at 19th and Mission. In case that name sounds familiar, that’s because it was named after a famed Muppet band. It’s got a fantastic back patio that’s quite good-sized and is great on a sunny day. There’s cornhole sets outside and a shuffleboard table inside.
The Bottomless
$16, no time limit. Just regular old-fashioned OJ mimosas, and no carafes. Still, the champagne/OJ ratio was good and the refills came quickly.
They also have Bloody Marys by the pitcher (which are pricey) and a few other reasonably priced cocktails – Irish coffee, michelada and a mendota (beer and grapefruit juice – it’s actually pretty good).
The Food
The wings were great – we got the buffalo and BBQ, and the buffalo ones had just the right amount of kick. We also shared some breakfast totchos (tater tot nachos), which were smothered in cheese, meat and the usual nacho accouterments, and I got the breakfast burrito, which was decent sized and well done.
Nobody was willing to order the jelly donut fried chicken sandwich, a fact I remain disappointed about to this day. If you’ve tried one, please tell me how it was.
The Service
Great – the waitress was attentive and made some good food suggestions, and she was happy to bring things out over a few courses so we could meander and play cornhole and shuffleboard while we made the most of the bottomless. Speaking of bottomless, my glass never went empty, so a big thumbs up from me.
If you’re in the Mission and it’s a nice day, go sit on the patio, order some totchos, play a little shuffleboard and have a nice leisurely brunch here.
