District has a slightly different (but top-notch) take on brunch. It is, thus far, the only brunch I’ve been to in SF that does a brunch buffet, which pairs nicely with bottomless mimosas. You’ll find it in SOMA near the ballpark on Townsend and Ritch.
One important note – Yelp lists District as only being open for brunch on Sunday, but it’s also open on Saturdays if there’s a Giants game in the afternoon. We had the place mostly to ourselves both times I’ve been there on Saturday since it’s not especially well advertised. I definitely recommend going to District to get your day started if you’re headed to a game in the afternoon.
$15 for bottomless mimosas and a bottomless build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. The mimosas come by the carafe in five different flavors (OJ, cranberry, guava, apple, peach), and the Bloody Mary bar has a couple of choices of mix (spicy or not) and a range of toppings. When you ask for a Bloody, they bring you a (quite full) glass of vodka and send you on your way.
No time limit here. One of the all around best bottomless deals in San Francisco.
For $20, he buffet has your traditional brunch foods as well as some Southern options. You’ll see pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage sitting aside biscuits and gravy, cheddar grits, collard greens and fried sweet plantains.
Since you can hang around for hours, I recommend one traditional brunch and a Southern plate for round two. Make sure you leave some room for the chocolate chip bread pudding.
Since it’s pretty empty on Saturday, we had a waitress more or less to ourselves (your mileage may vary if you go on Sunday). She was delightful and made sure every carafe reappeared with a few flavor of mimosa moments after it went empty.
The hostess also let us pick our table, which was nice since there are a few options – you’ve got some lounge-style couches as well as normal tables (though if you’re the type to play drinking games at brunch, you should opt for the latter).
All you can eat and all you can drink at a reasonable price with excellent options and great staff. District exceeded all expectations and gets my unequivocal recommendation.
